Spring/Summer shoe updates

Girls love shoes. Shoes love girls. It’s a fact.

This season there’s a few new shoe categories to pick from, along with some updated classics all rounded up in a little post below.

Happy shopping!

Jelly Shoes

1. ASOS – £21, 2. New Look – £9.99, 3. New Look – £9.99, 4. Primark – £6, 5. Boohoo – £12, 6. Office – £35

Jelly shoes are a divisive subject. You either love them or hate them. Personally I’m a big fan, I remember getting my first pair from Woolworths when I was younger and feeling like the coolest kid prancing around in my new chunky heeled glittery shoes . I now own the Primark ones above in both the glitter and black and whilst there is much less prancing around they make me feel like a kid all over again.

How to wear:

              • With statement socks
              • At the beach
              • With MOM jeans

Cleated Sole

1. Boohoo – £35, 2. Boohoo – £22, 3. River Island – £32, 4. New Look – £19.99, 5. New Look – £39.99, 6. Topshop – £40

A little bit gothic and on the sensible side of the shoe heel/sole scale, cleated soles have popped up all over the high street. Chunky is the key word for this style so steer clear if you prefer a more dainty shoe.

How to wear:

            • Choose cleated soles in pink or white to lighten your look
            • Dress down a girly dress with a chunky sole
            • With a leather jacket to keep it tough

1. Primark – £4, 2.  River Island – £40, 3. ASOS – £20, 4. River Island – £28, 5. Boohoo – £15, 6. New Look – £24.99

Sliders are possibly the comfiest shoe around this season, simply slide on and slide off. Perfect for days when you simply can’t be bothered or when you’re going for the casually undone look.

How to wear:

            • Poolside
            • With ripped jeans, a crisp white shirt and a leather jacket
            • With a drop waist dress

1. Primark – £14, 2. New Look – £15.99, 3. Boohoo – £20, 4. New Look – £19.99, 5. ASOS – £17.50, 6. Topshop – £58

Pointed shoes have come a long way since their WAG heyday with power points now a staple in many girls shoedrobe. Whilst pointed courts are a little less comfy than their platformed friends, pointed shoes are guaranteed to grab attention and show you mean business. I bought the ASOS shoes last week during a little sale browsing session and I wasn’t disappointed when they arrived either – the perfect spring shoe.

How to wear:

          • Update your nude heels with the mesh insert New Look pointed courts
          • Dress up ripped boyfriend jeans
          • In the office for ultimate power dressing

Skate shoe

1. Office – £51.99, 2. Topshop – £20, 3. River Island – £24, 4. YMC at ASOS – £70, 5. Office – £20, 6. Topshop – £20

If trainers are more your thing then the skate shoe will be up your street. Fuss free with no laces skate shoes are perfect to slip on when things get a little hectic.

How to wear:

            • Channel the skater look with a denim jacket
            • With jeans, a band t-shirt and checked shirt tied around your waist
            • With tailored joggers
