If I had to pick one pair of shoes to live with for the rest of my life I’m pretty sure that I’d pick a black ankle boot. Verstaile, classic and the ultimate dress up or dress down shoe, my collection is constantly growing and I am certainly not sorry.
I’m a magpie when it comes to sniffing out black boots in a shop and if I spy them across the shop floor I’m over there as quick as can be to check them out. My boyfriend always complains and asks if I really need another pair of boots, pretty similar to when I ask if he really needs another grey cable knit jumper to add to his 25384 already at home I suppose.
When it comes to boot criteria I prefer a mid-heel height, anything too flat and they verge on slightly too biker for my liking, I’m also a sucker for gold detailing which explains my latest shoe love.
Anyway, these are the latest addition to my shoedrobe after spying them before Christmas in Topshop and sending a cheeky little text to my Mum mentioning how much I loved them, I was super happy to receive them during the festive period.
The perfect height for day, I love the jacquard suede effect and the gold heel adds something a little different to any other pair I own. They’ve rarely left my feet since and have been paired with my trusty suede and denim a-line skirts to pinafore dresses and my favourite black jeans and tee combo.
I definitely don’t need any more boots to add to my ever growing collection but I don’t think that will stop me adding a few more spring appropriate pairs into my wardrobe when/if the sun makes an appearance! The phrase too much of a good thing definitely doesn’t apply where ankle boots are concerned in my eyes.
