With moving out becoming an increasing reality it’s become even more of an excuse to fuel my new found homeware obsession. Whereas before if you took me into H&M or New Look you could guarantee i’d walk out with something, nowadays I’m more likely to be found in the homeware aisles with my arms craddling whatever I could get my hands on.
I’ve always been a bit (a massive) magpie when it comes to clothing, prints, sparkles and sequins, you name it I’d probably gravitate towards it, so it’s no surprise that my taste in homeware has gone down the same route. Much to my boyfriends dismay, as he’s convinced I’m just buying with no real idea as to whether it’s all going to go together.
We haven’t really settled on any final colour schemes yet, but we do have a pretty good idea of what we’re after for each room so far. These are a few new little bits and pieces that I’ve picked up in the last month, which have been largely dictated by my magpie ways but I just couldn’t resist them.
A lot of our buys so far have been from TK Maxx and Home Sense which have some of the best pieces in, and are not only a bit different but good on price too, which is where the bowls are from. Thinking they would be perfect for whipping up some Chinese or Thai dishes, or a health portion of carbonara – yum!
Primark is also the best for fairy lights, because what’s a house without fairy lights?! I also picked up this little jewellery dish from Next as I tend to take off the pieces I wear everyday and place them on the side, rather than back in their boxes so this is a good compromise between the two.
On the bakeware front things have taken on a little bit of a pastel theme in keeping with my pistachio Kitchen Aid I got at Christmas, and a Cath Kidston flour shaker was obviously an essential alongside the cake slice from Tiger. And that’s what’s new on the homeware front, next up is a big Ikea trip which I am so excited for, partly because meatballs but also more home stuff – yay!

Big thank you to Ocean Loans for inviting me to share my homeware purchases.
